FAQ
What do I need to store comics properly?
Two things that work as a pair: an acid-free bag that closes, and a backing board that keeps the issue flat. The bag keeps dust and humidity out, the board stops the spine bending and the corners rolling.
Current or magazine size: which one is mine?
Current size covers modern American comics, the ones you buy new today. Magazine size is wider and taller, for magazines and older or oversized formats. Measure the issue if you are not sure, a bag that is too big lets the comic move inside.
Are they safe for long-term storage?
Yes. Everything in this collection is acid-free, which is what keeps paper from yellowing and going brittle over the years. A sleeve and a board together, stored upright in a box, is the standard way to keep a run in the condition it arrived in.
More about Comics
Comics were printed to be read, not to survive forty years in a longbox. Acid-free sleeves and rigid backing boards handle both jobs: the bag keeps dust, dirt and fingerprints off the cover, the board keeps the spine flat and the corners square.
Bag and board always together, and comics stored upright: current size for modern issues, magazine size for larger formats.
