FAQ
What is a backing board for?
It goes behind the comic, inside the bag, and keeps the issue rigid. Without one the comic bends in the box, the spine creases and the corners roll. It is the cheapest protection there is for a run you actually care about.
Which size do I need?
Current size, cut for modern American comics. If your issues are magazine size, use the bags and boards made for that format instead, a board that is too small leaves the edges unsupported.
Are they acid-free?
Yes. High-density acid-free board, which is what stops the paper yellowing where it touches the card over the years. Use them with our comic sleeves for the full protection.
More about Backing Boards
The board is what stops a comic from bending inside the box. Ours are high-density and acid-free, cut to current size and sold in packs of 100, enough to bring a whole shelf up to archival standard in one afternoon.
